Why does the VW Routan require a Chrysler MS-6395 oil quality specification? The VW Routan shares the engine with the Chrysler line of vehicles. We suggest always using oils that specifically indicate a Chrysler oil quality specification on the bottle (Example: Chrysler MS-6395). The 3.6L Volkswagen Routan engine should specifically use a Chrysler MS-6395 oil specification and an oil. By using proper oil specifications as requested by Volkswagen and Chrysler you will greatly improve your vehicles mechanical longevity and performance.
