Blauparts recommends replacing your VW TDI fuel filter at the manufacturers specified replacement interval. The recommended service for the VW TDI fuel filter is to drain or flush it every 10,000 miles and change it every 20,000 miles. You may also want to consider replacing your fuel filter before winter months. Your fuel filter filters moisture and water from your diesel fuel. If moisture is not removed from the fuel filter during cold winter months this can cause emulsified water to form a fuel/ice slush, further restricting the fuel filter causing poor performance.
