What is the Best Subaru Oil Change Interval? Our Blauparts oil change kits are designed for the most up to date factory recommended Subaru oil change intervals of up to 7500 miles or 1 year, whichever occurs first. However depending on difficult driving style and conditions Blauparts recommends an earlier oil change interval such a 5,000 miles or once a year, whichever occurs first. An earlier Subaru oil change interval is good preventative maintenance in an effort to minimize long term engine repair costs.

What Oil Type Should I Use In My Subaru? We suggest always using oils that specifically indicate the required oil quality specifications suggested by Subaru. (Example: Licensed API SN or SM and ILSAC GF4 or GF5.) These oils have been created with your vehicles engine design and style in mind. By using higher quality API and ILSAC licensed oil you will greatly improve your vehicles mechanical longevity and performance. An oil that “meets” an oil specification has not received a formal letter of approval or licensed agreement and should no be used in your vehicle. An oil without a Licensed specification is in almost all cases is a lower quality engine oil.
