What is the Best Scion Oil Change Interval? Our Blauparts oil change kits are designed for the most up to date factory recommended Scion oil change intervals of up to 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever occurs first. What Oil Type Should I Use In My Scion? We suggest always using oils that specifically indicate the required oil quality specifications suggested by Toyota. What's the difference between a motor oil that “meets” an oil specification and one that is "Licensed"? An oil that is "Licensed" has received a formal letter of approval from API or ILSAC that the oil specified has a higher standard of quality and that it can be used in their engine. An oil that “meets” an oil specification has not received a formal letter of approval or licensed agreement and should no be used in your vehicle. An oil without a Licensed specification is in almost all cases is a lower quality engine oil.
