ILSAC GF-6A Motor Oils
ILSAC GF6A oil type started being used in 2020 and was formulated to provide improved high temperature deposit protection for pistons and turbochargers, stringent sludge and varnish control, improved fuel economy, enhanced emission control system protection of engines featuring low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) as well as vehicles operating on ethanol-containing fuels up to E85. API SP with Resource Conserving oil standard (aka API SP RC oil) is often combined with ILSAC GF-6A.
ILSAC GF6A engine oil type is an upgraded quality standard with even further benefits and has replaced or superseded ILSAC GF-5. Some owners of select Toyota Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Highlander, FJ Cruiser, Lexus GS 350, GS 450h, IS 250, IS 300, IS 350, RC 300, RC 350, Mazda, Honda, and Nissan models that called for ILSAC GF5 choose to use the updated GF-6A oil spec.
These vehicles require cutting-edge fully synthetic oil formulations. We carry a variety of ILSAC GF6A API SP oils made by Ravenol, Eurol, and others that carry OEM approvals and outperform other synthetic oils. ILSAC GF-6A oil formulas are available in a variety of viscosity options, such as SAE 0W20, 5W20, 5W30, and 10W30. The recommended Toyota, Lexus, or other make oil type, specifications, quality standards, and oil viscosity weight are listed in your owner's manual.
