Allow your engine oil to warm up. Drive your Audi S4 2.7T for approximately 5-10 minutes, allowing the old motor oil to warm up for optimal oil flow and thorough drainage. Open your hood. Locate the oil fill cap and loosen it. Loosening it will minimize crankcase pressure creating an easier flow for the old oil to drain from the engine, minimizing oil splashing.

Remove the Audi S4 splash pan. Using a T50 torx bit remove the 2 screws along the front side (Pictured in YELLOW). Using a T30 torx bit remove the 3 splash pan screw fasteners (Pictured in RED). Using a regular screw driver remove the 3 regular fasteners along the front side, 3 along the rear of the splash pan, 2 in the drivers side wheel well, and 2 in the passengers side wheel well. Tip the splash pan down and slide it out toward the back of the vehicle.

Remove the drain plug located on the drivers side on the S4 engine. Place a suitable oil drain pan container just bellow the engine oil pan drain plug. Use a 19mm wrench or socket wrench to loosen and remove the Audi S4 oil pan drain plug.

Once the oil has drained, remove the oil filter. Using an oil filter wrench, turning counter clockwise, loosen the filter. Then use your hands to loosen the last few treads. Be careful to keep the oil filter over the oil pan.

Install the new Audi S4 oil drain plug. Using a 19mm socket wrench, torque the drain plug to 22 ft. lb. Clean any excessive old oil from the oil pan drain plug area.

Using a little bit of fresh oil, lubricate the o-ring of on the new oil filter seal. This aids in the proper sealing of and the future removal of the oil filter.

Install the new oil filter. Hand tighten. Don't torque. It can be very difficult to remove on your next oil change. Also, use a rag to clean up any oil residue around the oil filter housing.

Fill the engine with OEM approved VW 502 00 spec Audi S4 motor oil. The oil fluid capacity of the 2.7T Audi S4 engines is 6.9 liters.

Re-install the oil fill cap. Start and run the engine for about 30 seconds. This will allow the Audi S4 oil filter to completely fill. Turn engine off.

Using a T50, T30 torx bit, and regular screw driver, reinstall the S4 splash pan. See Step 2. It's easiest to slide in one of the front corners first and work your way around to secure the front side fasteners first, followed by the rear, and then the wheel wells.
