What is the Best GM Oil Change Interval? Our Blauparts oil change kits are designed for the factory recommended GM oil change intervals. The recommended GM oil change interval for the GMC Canyon diesel engine is 7,500 miles or 1 year, whichever occurs first. However depending on difficult driving style and conditions Blauparts recommends an earlier oil change interval. An earlier GM oil change interval is good preventative maintenance in an effort to minimize long term engine repair costs. For individuals who have a mild driving style our oils and filters are suitable for a longer oil change interval of up to 10,000 miles or more.

What GM Engine Oil Type Should I Use In My Engine? We suggest always using oils that specifically indicate a General Motors oil quality specification on the bottle (Example: Dexos1 or Dexos2). Dexos1 or Dexos2 oils have been created with your vehicles engine design and style in mind.
