Audi A4 Transfer Case Differential Fluid Change Kit - 2017-25 - Ravenol

The B9 chassis Audi A4 Quattro models with the 7-speed DL382 transmission were optioned with two different center transfer case differential types. B9 Audi A4 Quattro owners are responsible for confirming their specific Quattro system and adjusting their needed fluids accordingly.

Quattro Ultra - One option is the Quattro Ultra AWD system, which is an electromagnetic multi-plate clutch to control the power distribution between the front and rear wheels. This clutch is what engages and disengages the transmission from the main driveshaft. When engaged, the vehicle will be in AWD mode. When it is disengaged, the vehicle will be in FWD mode for better fuel economy. This section uses roughly 0.36 liter of Ravenol DTF-1 G 055 515 A2 fluid when performing a fluid change service. The AWD clutch section is located at the end or tail of the transmission. To confirm that you have a Quattro Ultra Center Four Wheel Drive Transfer Coupler Clutch, you will need to visually inspect it and confirm. It can be identified by the electronic servo motor and harness mounted on the left driver side of the clutch assembly unit.

Full Time Quattro - The other option is a full time AWD Quattro system with a Torsen center differential. Most likely only available in the 2017-2019 A4 Quattro models. You will visually need to inspect and confirm your vehicle does not have a servo motor and electrical harness on the left driver side where the driveshaft meets the transmission. This indicates a permanent full time Quattro AWD system and uses the shared Ravenol MTF-4 70w G 052 549 A2 fluid from the front differential and center gear drive assembly unit. When the MTF fluid is changed, this also changes the fluid for the center Torsen differential. Typically, from our information DL382 transmissions with code 0CL are equipped with a full time Quattro Torsen differential.

Front Wheel Drive - The B9 chassis Audi A4 2WD models from 2017-2020 with the 7-speed DL382 only need MTF-4 70W for the transmission gear drive assembly unit transmission codes 0CK and 0DN.

  For Models With Quattro Ultra Center Four Wheel Drive Transfer Coupler Clutch: 
  Default Qty 1 - 1-liter bottle of fully synthetic RAVENOL DTF-1 Transfer Case Fluid. High-performance replacement or equivalent to the original recommended Audi G 055 515 A2 fluid spec and part number. Specifically formulated as an improved active clutch differential fluid. This fluid is also known as ATC (Active Transfer Case) or ATF (Active or Actuation Transfer Fluid).

  For Models With Full Time Quattro Center Torsen Differential:
  This is a joint fluid chamber shared with the transmission gear drive assembly fluid. While changing the MTF 70w fluid in the transmission gear drive assembly unit area, you will also be changing the fluid lubricating the Torsen differential. No additional fluids are needed. See fluid info notes below and unselect the Ravenol DTF-1 if you have a full time Torsen Quattro system.
