Technical Information:
Squeak…squeak…Why replace my VW accessory belt? Old VW accessory belts (a.k.a. serpentine belts) can begin to squeak near the end of their service life. This is typically due to the constant flexing and heat cycles of the rubber during vehicle use. This causes the accessory belt to harden and crack. If not inspected the hardened and cracking serpentine belt may break causing vehicle stranding.

When should I replace my VW accessory belt? The recommended serpentine belts inspection is every 40,000 miles. From our hands on experience, typically if a vehicle is approaching 100,000 miles the accessory belt and related parts (i.e. tensioners, tensioning arm, bearings, and pulleys) are in need of replacement.

Serpentine and timing belt? If your VW is approaching or ready for a timing belt change, it's a great time to replace your accessory belt and other related components and save money on replacement costs. The VW accessory belt and all other necessary timing belt parts are included in our complete Audi/VW Timing Belt Kits.
