Note: We recommend replacing the serpentine belt tensioner and pulleys. In our service facility we've noticed that when doing timing belt maintenance on these vehicles, the bearing in the pulley has already begun making some noise (statistically 80% of the time).
Note: We recommend replacing the crankshaft access plug and o-ring. This plastic plug becomes brittle and has been known to crack during removal or installation, creating an oil leak.

Why replace my cam chain tensioner gaskets during timing belt service? From our experience most cam chain tensioner gaskets begin leaking around 70,000-100,000 miles. Many people perform a timing belt service only to experience cam chain tensioner gasket leaks shortly after. During the cam chain tensioner gasket replacement nearly all of the timing belt disassembly and assembly procedures are needed in order the properly and effectively service and replace the cam chain tensioner gakets. Changing your cam chain tensioner gaskets during your timing belt service can save you several hours of shop labor cost.
